The Bayside Success Story

In 1994, three civil engineers who worked together at a large, national engineering company and who shared an entrepreneurial spirit decided to start their own professional firm. Committed to the individualized attention and high-quality service that smaller firms can provide to their clients, Kimberlee DeBosier, PE, Robert Dvorak, PE and Darlene Shuman, PE, founded Bayside Engineering, Inc. (They are still the principals.)

From its modest beginning in a suburban Tampa office park, Bayside cultivated industry recognition and client loyalty by consistently delivering on its mission - "Superior Engineering through Teamwork". And by adhering to its core values - integrity, respect, passion, positive attitude, affirmative communication, and diversity - the firm thrived and expanded.

Within five years, Bayside's growth had reached the point that it employed 24 professionals offering multi-disciplinary services in general civil engineering, transportation, water resource management, surveying and mapping, utilities coordination, geotechnical engineering, and construction engineering and inspection. Today, services also include traffic engineering, Geographic Information Systems analysis, and information technology.

Now headquartered in the Channel District near downtown Tampa's eastern waterfront, with field offices in other Central Florida counties and a satellite office in Charlotte, North Carolina, the company has 55 employees and annual revenue of $6 million. Responding proactively to the fast-growing market demand for "sustainable" design, Bayside has become a full-service, "one-stop shopping" firm for environmentally friendly development and infrastructure projects.
